Hi, my name is Sara. I aim to inspire, personally and professionally. My life and work are centered around promoting health and wellness through creative, action-based programs. Community health assessments, including data collection, data analysis, and document layout, are my specialty. The School Food Tour - a 5,000-mile solo bicycle ride supported by the John Wayne Cancer Foundation promoting cycling and healthy food - was another recent exciting creation. I have spent time in school food reform at the Orfalea Foundation and have a Masters degree in Public Health from Oregon State University. I am also proud to be serving as the Executive Director for Fast and Female USA.

When not planning new programming or providing health education, I work to develop more robust and health-conscious communities. As the Health Education Coordinator at the Western UP Health Department, I wrote the non-motorized plan for our city, conducted a regional bicycle & pedestrian survey and accompanying comprehensive data report that will guide future planning, spearheaded the development of a local food hub, and founded a regional bike advocacy organization. I also love to share my background in cross-country ski racing with the next generation as a seasoned junior competition team coach.

I stay grounded through time spent outdoors mountain biking, trail running, windsurfing, standup paddling, or skiing. My best ideas are developed when out on the open trail.
